Do you understand God’s grace in all its truth?

All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth.

– Colossians 1:6

Do you, as Paul says, understand God’s grace in all its truth?

Take the 10 questions test!

1. Do you believe you have been set free from the ”prison of sin”?

2. Do you believe God will never punish you for your sin?

3. Do you believe you are pure and blameless?

4. Do you believe you are as righteous as Christ?

5. Do you believe you are righteous by faith, and not because of your ‘good works’?

6. Do you believe you have no part to play in overcoming your sin?

7. Do you believe you have been made holy by Christ’s sacrifice?

8. Do you believe His sacrifice has made you perfect forever?

9. Do you believe at the cross you have been forgiven of all sin, past, present and future?

10. Do you believe your eternal salvation is secure?

If you answered ‘yes’ to these questions, congratulations! You understand God’s grace in all its truth!

  1. Point 6 is quite an extreme idea: what do you mean by ‘no part’? Doesn’t it say resist the devil and he will flee from you?
Point 9 is challenged by 2 scriptures: Matt 6. 14-15 and James 5. 15. What does 9 mean in the light of these verses?
Point 2. Matt 18. 35 shows that God will inflict suffering on us if we do not forgive others from the heart. This might be interpreted as ‘punishing us for our sins’ at least for one sin that of unforgiveness.
